BARBARA WOLFERT NEWMAN

Barbara Ann Wolfert Newman, 85, died Tuesday morning at her home.
Born in Greenwich, Conn., she was the daughter of the late George R. and Catherine Elizabeth Fryer Wolfert, and the wife of the late Erman M. Newman Jr.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Goldsboro.
A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Father John Alex Gonzalez and deacon Webster James presiding.
The family will visit with family and friends following the service at the church and at other times, will be at Mrs. Newman's residence.
Burial will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in West Point Cemetery, West Point, N.Y.
Barbara is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Erman M. "Bud" Newman III ( Luanne) of Houston, Texas, and James "Jim" Edward Newman of El Paso, Texas; her daughters and sons-in-law, Suzan A. Newman of Richmond Hill, Ga., Sandra Jean Lindsey (Shane) of Pikeville, Virginia C. "Gini" Phillips (Glenn) of Naples, Fla., and Sarah E. Bacia of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sisters, Alice Bonatt of Harwich, Mass., Kathryn Kearby of Oklahoma and Nancy E. Whalen of Enfield, Conn.; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
