Mary Jane Lockamy Hardebeck, 85, widow of Herman J. Hardebeck Sr., passed away Thursday night, May 24, at Wayne Hospital. 

She had been residing in the Seven Springs area with a daughter and son-in-law in recent years, and prior to that, she lived in Kentucky.

It was in New Bern that she spent her early life, and it was there that she raised her family. 

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 26, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation during the hour beforehand. The Rev. Jeff Dail will preside. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive.

At other times, family and friends will be received at the home of Shirley and Buddy Worrell, 305 Pioneer Trails Drive, Seven Springs, N.C.

Memorials may be made to Women’s Ministries, First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 130 Ed Edmundson Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365. 

Mrs. Hardebeck is survived by three children, Shirley Worrell and husband, Buddy, of Seven Springs, Virgil Tucker and wife, Margie, of Belhaven and Mary Toler of Raleigh; a brother, Robert Lockamy of Greenville; a sister, Susan Baker of Farmville; two stepsons; three stepdaughters; brother-in-law, Raymond Hardebeck of Independence, Ky.; grandchildren, Lauren Toler, Donna Williams, Christina Patrick, Mickey Tucker and Chad Tucker; five stepgrandchildren; eight stepgreat grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
