Bobbie Flowers Hollowell, 81, Bentonville, passed away early Wednesday morning at Brookdale Country Day.

Bobbie was born in Johnston County Oct. 14, 1936, to the late C.W. and Mary Westbrook Flowers. She was married to the W.L. Hollowell Jr.

Bobbie was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bentonville.

She retired as an elementary teacher from Wayne County public schools.

A service to celebrate Bobbie’s life will be held Friday, May 25, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, 3162 Harper House Road, Four Oaks, N.C., in the Bentonville community, with the Rev. Bill Spencer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Bobbie is survived by her son, Ken Hollowell and wife, Cindy, of Wilson; two granddaughters, Jessica Hollowell of Greensboro and Jamie Hollowell Phipps and husband, Daniel, of Sims; great-granddaughter, Lena Phipps; and sister, Ruth F. Porter and husband, Herman, of Goldsboro. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Doris F. Mathany.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Bobbie’s nieces, Carol, Mary Sue, Karen and Lisa, who provided wonderful help to Bobbie and Ken. They were not only nieces and cousins, but also their special friends. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church, c/o Becky Monson, 550 Bass Road, Four Oaks, N.C., 27524. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 24, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
