John Arthur Williamson, 61, Dudley, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at Willow Creek.

John was born in Smithfield Aug. 28, 1956, to the late Benjamin C. Williamson Sr. and Christine Lokey Turnage.

He owned and operated Flat Top Roofing in Goldsboro.

John was a hard-working man, which was the theme of his life; he lived to work.

He was the kind of man who was loyal to his family, who took great pride in caring and providing for them.

John was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water fishing or in the woods.

He also enjoyed watching his western movies on television, as well as boxing and football.

John will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know him.

A service to celebrate John's life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home.

The family will greet friends in the hour prior to the service at Seymour Funeral Home.

Interment will be Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

John is survived by his wife, Phyllis Tyndall Williamson; daughters, Leea Williamson and fianceé, Justin Cotton, and Tina W. Kirby and husband, Marvin; grandchildren, Jackson Lee Cotton, Shayla Janay Kirby and Jaylyn Janay Kirby; sister, Fran W. Jordan and husband, Ernest; stepson, Jason T. Moore; and nieces and nephews, Crissy Lynn Rouse, Angie J. Pipkin, Melissa Jones, E. Charles Jordan Jr., Matthew Williamson, Michael Williamson and Clay Williamson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Christie W. Carlyle and Sally Jo Williamson, and brother, Ben C. Williamson Jr.

In lieu flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Shriner's Children Hospital, 403 E. Front St., New Bern, N.C., 28560.
