ELLEN M. DAVIS

Sept. 19, 1929-April 20, 2018

Lillie Ellen Mozingo Davis, 88, went to be with her Lord Friday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend, who was cherished by all who knew her.

Ellen was a hard-working woman all her life.

She had worked as a telephone operator, kept children in the home, worked at Elliot's Packing Co., worked at a chicken hatchery, worked at the Cloth Barn, where she learned to make drapes, worked at Evelyn's drapery nook and later made drapes in her home.

Ellen will be remembered by her children as an all-around domestic engineer.

Ellen was a devoted church worker at May's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church for many years. Later she attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

A service to celebrate Ellen's life will be held Monday, April 23, 2018, at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with pastor Bill Rose and pastor Jim Whitfield officiating.

The family will greet friends Monday following the service in the church narthex and at other times, in her home. Interment will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

She is survived by her children, Pamela R. Davis of the home and Kim Davis of Princeton; sister, Marie Smith and husband, Carlos, of Goldsboro; special nephew, Michael Mozingo of Clinton; and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ellen is also survived by her four-legged grandson, Tazer, who will miss her dearly.

Ellen was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Lee Davis; parents, Edward and Ruth Mozingo; and brother, Billy Mozingo.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
