RILEY V. ANDERSON

Aug. 29, 1927-April 14, 2018

Riley Vernon Anderson, 90, Goldsboro, peacefully passed away on Saturday, April 14, 2018. Riley was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Wayne County to the late Lee H. Anderson and Mae Belle Howell Anderson. His wife, Velda Davis Anderson, preceded him in death.

Riley proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He later retired from Kemp Furniture.

Riley was a long-time member of Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed daily visits to Berkeley Mall for exercise and fellowship.

A service to celebrate and honor Riley's life will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 2 p.m. at Free Chapel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dane Williford and the Rev. Thomas McLendon officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Riley is survived by a brother, the Rev. Harold T. Anderson and wife, Alice; two sisters, Jessie Huntley and Janis McLendon and husband, the Rev. Thomas McLendon; along with a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
