Melissa Furnan "Missy" Massey, 59, passed away Monday at her home. She is the daughter of Peggy Waters Hester and the late Eddie Hester. Missy leaves behind her loving husband, Donny Lee Massey, of the home.
A memorial service was held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Dexter officiating. The family received friends at 10 a.m. prior to the service.
In addition to her husband and mother, Mrs. Massey is survived by her son, Andy Massey (Janelle) of Fort Carlson, Colo.; two stepsons, James Keith Massey (Jennifer) of Goldsboro and Tim Massey of Goldsboro; one brother, Edward Hester of Mount Olive; one sister, Memory Renee Hester of Mount Olive; an uncle, Kenneth Waters of Mount Olive; and a beloved granddaughter, Addison, along with two stepgrandchildren, Sierra and Aren.
