HAZEL AYCOCK GRIEWAHN

Hazel Aycock Griewahn, 100, Pikeville, died Friday at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation.

Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1100 Pikeville-Princeton Road. Committal will follow at Pike's Cemetery, 2200 Pikeville-Princeton Road. The Rev. Barry Stallings will officiate.

There will be a time of sharing with the family in the church fellowship hall from 1:45 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

Surviving is a niece, Martie Pate McCall (Randy); nephews, Jesse Wilkinson (Ellen), John Pate (Betty), and Morris Pate (Charlene); and several great nieces and great nephews.

Ms. Griewahn was a graduate of the 1935 Class of Pikeville High School and graduated in 1936 from Carolina Beauty School in Raleigh. She worked in a shop in Wake Forest after beauty school, and then bought a beauty shop in Clayton. She later moved to Dunn and opened her own beauty shop. She completed over 60 years of service as a beautician and cosmetologist before she retired.

She was a native of the Nahunta Community and was preceded in death by her parents, Pascha Davis Aycock and Roby Aycock; and her siblings, Clinton Aycock, Ruth Aycock McNeil, Grace Aycock Pate, and Mildred Aycock Wilkinson. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorials be made to Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, 1100 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

Arrangements are with Evergreen Funeral Home.
