ELSIE C. SKINNER

Mrs. Elsie Mae Chase Skinner, 87, Snow Hill, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2017, at Sutton's Retirement Center.

A native of Greene County, she was born Jan. 13, 1930, the daughter of Sidney and Blanche Thomas Chase.

Mrs. Chase was a longtime member of Free Gospel Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmund Skinner; a son, Robert James "Bobby" Skinner; brothers, Billy Chase, Sidney Wayne "Bud" Chase and Dalton "Jimmy" Chase; and sisters, Alease C. Lane and Mildred C. Hill.

Her surviving family includes her children, Randy Skinner and wife, Terry, and Cindy Skinner Smith and husband, Johnnie, all of Snow Hill; grandchildren, Robert Timothy Smith and wife, Kami, of Snow Hill, Nicki Skinner and fiancé, Sam Wood, of Snow Hill and Samantha Skinner Jones and husband, Mickey, of Washington; great-grandchildren, Addison Caroline Smith, Brendon Carter Jones and Ryan Evan Jones; sisters-in-law, Evelyn Chase and Jean Chase both of Snow Hill; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service, with pastor Mike Parks officiating. Interment will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Johnnie and Cindy Smith, 535 Free Gospel Road, Snow Hill.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sutton's Retirement Center and 3HC Hospice for care and kindness shown to Mrs. Skinner.
