Helen Tyner Cox Cooper, 91, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at Brookdale surrounded by her family.

Helen was born in Wayne County Aug. 26, 1926, to the late Robert and Viola Price Tyner. She was married to the late Leland Harrell Cooper.

Helen enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.

She was a valued employee of Belk in Goldsboro for more than 34 years.

Helen also loved working in her yard, especially in her flower gardens.

She was a true Christian lady, who loved God and lived each day showing those around her what faith in action is all about.

Helen was caring, giving, loving and yes -- feisty!

The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 20, 2017, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Helen's life at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will follow in Falling Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Helen is survived by her children, Paulette Tart, Robbie Cox and wife, Janie, Alton Cox and wife, Jan, and Fenton Cox and wife, Kathy; sisters, Betty Rose and Frances Hinnant; brother, Charles Tyner; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Marta, Judy and Jimmy.
