CARROLL STRICKLAND

Mr. Carroll McGee Strickland Sr., 77, passed away early Friday morning, Oct. 13, at SECU Hospice in Smithfield.

Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home on Monday, Oct. 16, beginning at 1 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Clifton Ansley will officiate. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive. The family will also receive friends at the home of his daughter, Tammy Booth, at 583 U.S. 13 South, today from 1 to 5 p.m.

In recent years, Mr. Strickland had been a resident of the Kenly area, but was a longtime resident of Mount Olive where he had been employed by the Mount Olive Gas Company as a truck driver.

He is survived by a son, Carroll McGee Strickland Jr.; two daughters, Teva Justice and husband, Jeffery, of Kenly, and Tammy Booth and husband, Christopher, of Goldsboro; two brothers, Bobby Strickland and wife, Faye, of Mount Olive and Raven Strickland, and his wife, Goldie; three sisters, Barbara Ann Pipkin, Leona Mae Venable and husband, Joe, and Murdie Thompson; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Todd Strickland; his wife, Mary Olmstead Strickland; his parents, Carl Strickland and Addie Mae McCullen Strickland; and two brothers, Edward and Elton Strickland.
