DIANE E. HARE

Cheryl Diane Ellis Hare, 70, Princeton, passed away early on Friday morning at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield surrounded by her family.

Diane was born in Wayne County on May 24, 1947, to the late William Tom Ellis and Helen York Ellis. She worked for many years with her husband in the family construction business. Family was paramount to Diane, and she loved nothing more than spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. Diane also loved to go fishing and was a woman who loved God, her family, life, had a wonderful sense of humor and was loved by everyone who knew her.

A graveside service to celebrate Diane's life will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, 2017, at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.

Diane is survived by her husband, Charles Hare; daughter, Rene Hare of Princeton; sons, David Fail and wife, Rita, of Hampstead, and Michael Fail and wife, Karin, of Four Oaks; and her grandchildren, Brooke Bell, Austin Bell and Danielle Fail. She is also survived by her sister and brothers, Carol Hood and husband, Doug, Bill Ellis, and Phillip Ellis.

In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by a brother, Bruce Ellis.

The family will received friends Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
