WILLIAM 'BILL' WALTER ROWE

William "Bill" Walter Rowe, 80, died Tuesday evening at the North Carolina State Veterans Home in Kinston, N.C.

Born in San Pedro, Calif., he was the son of the late Walter and Vena Thomas Rowe, and was the husband of Peggy Rowe of Goldsboro.

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brogden United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Moehring officiating.

Family members will greet friends after the service at the church.

Bill was a veteran of the United States Navy and the United States Army.

He had also been a member of Waynesboro Model Railroad Club.

In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by two sons, David Rowe of Hampton, Va., and Richard Rowe and wife, NiNing, of Singapore; a stepson, Michael Bethel of Lake City, Fla.; three stepdaughters, Carla Bethel of Newport News, Va., Frances Forshey of Goldsboro and Elizabeth Marshall and spouse, Brooke, of North, Va.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
