JAMES EARL HAMM

James Earl Hamm, 90, a resident of Henderson, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Duke Raleigh Hospital.
Born in Greene County on June 27, 1927, he was the son of the late George B. Hamm and Hallie Mae Rose Hamm. Mr. Hamm was a retired plant foreman for S.T. Wooten Construction Company.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Sunset Gardens by the Rev. Ernie Bowes.
He is survived by two daughters, Edna Earl Strickland (Thurston) of Henderson and Vickie Gail Bergeron (Mike) of Orlando, Fla.; two sons, Marty Hamm (Donna) and Frank Hamm of Four Oaks; one sister, Janice Faye Peele of Elm City; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Brown Hamm; and one son, James Allen Hamm.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 until 8 p.m. at J. M. White Funeral Home.
