Laverne Thomas McCall, 81, 964 Vail Road, Pikeville, died Thursday at Countryside Village.
Funeral Saturday at 11 a.m. at United in Christ Church of which she was a member, 1314 Patetown Road, Goldsboro. The Rev. Ira Williford will officiate. Committal will follow at Pikeville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. and other times at the residence.
Surviving are her sons, Randy McCall (Martie) and Michael David McCall both of Pikeville; grandchildren, Alan McCall (Bridgett), Tyler McCall (Brittany) and Leslie Oakes (Jon); and great-grandchildren, Chase Parsons, Gracie Parsons, Lane Oakes and Riley Oakes.
Mrs. McCall was a native of Walhalla, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. McCall (2013); parents, Annie Pearl Rogers Thomas and Burns Allen Thomas; and sisters; Shelby Jean Weaver and Gene Ethel Harrison.
She retired from Brevard College as assistant book store manager.
