Matthew Smith Sr., 62, of Seven Springs, died Monday at the University of North Carolina Hospital, Chapel Hill.
He was born July 26, 1954, in Lenoir County to Johnny and Mary Moses Smith.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of the Haskins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Jerusalem FWB Church Cemetery, Seven Springs.
Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to the service on Wednesday. At other times, the family will receive friends at 208 S. Princess St., Goldsboro, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
Arrangements are with Haskins Funeral Home.
