WAYNE DOUGLAS THOMPSON

Wayne Douglas Thompson, 76, Kenly, passed away Saturday afternoon at Wilson Medical Center.
Wayne was born Nov. 17, 1940, in Johnston County to the late James Debro Thompson and Hazel Lynch Thompson Parker.
He attended New Jerusalem Church.
Wayne proudly served as a police officer for both the towns of Micro and Bailey.
A service celebrating his life will be held Sunday, July 16, 2017, at 2 p.m. at New Jerusalem Church in Kenly, with the Rev. Jasper Renfrow officiating.
A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the service at the church.
A committal service will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Katherine Milford Thompson, and his brother, James Kenneth Thompson of Novato, Calif.
