Rose Marie Godwin Grimes, 60, Princeton, died Sunday, July 9, 2017, in Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.
Born Sept. 30, 1956, in Johnston County, she was a daughter of the late Leamon and Bettie Holland Godwin.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gary Ward; sisters, Peggy Godwin, Lou Sullivan and Bonnie Lancaster; and brothers, Bo Godwin, Richard Godwin and Earl Godwin.
A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017, in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday just prior to the service.
Surviving are her husband, John Grimes of the home; son, Jerry Ward and wife, Teresa, of Rosewood; brother, Bill Godwin and wife, Jane, of Princeton; stepson, Luke Grimes; stepdaughters, Brandy Grimes and Jessica Grimes; sister, Joe Ann Best and husband, Dale, of Dudley; grandchildren, Brooke Ward, Kyley Houston, Gracie Lewis, Joclyn Hansen, Jordan Hansen and Tyler Tilghman; great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Casey; special friends, Alice Willoughby and Dianne Jefferson; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
