Annie Mae Holmes Sautter, 97, Mount Olive, passed away Friday evening at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

She is survived by her son, Ben Sautter of Mount Olive; her two daughters, Marty Ann Sautter Pate and her husband, Judson Dowling Pate, of Faison and Becky Sautter Beavers and her husband, Charles Lynn, of Garner; four grandchildren, Deborah Pate and partner, Mary Conrad, Amanda Pate and her husband, John Patterson, Judson Pate Jr. and his wife, Angie, and Benjamin Wesley Sautter; and two great-grandchildren, Graylon and Anna Patterson.

Annie Mae was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Olive, and former member and Sunday school teacher in years past at Northeast Original Free Will Baptist Church of Mount Olive.

Mrs. Annie Mae found great joy, and took pride in gardening and tending to her flowers right up until her last days.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who was dedicated to her church, and instilled strong Christian values in all of her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Florence Outlaw Holmes; her husband, Marvin Walter Sautter; and her siblings, Milton Holmes, Harvey Holmes, Christine H. Murphy and George Holmes.

A service to celebrate and remember her life will be held Tuesday, May 16, at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral in Mount Olive, with Dr. Dennis Atwood and the Rev. Jabe Largen officiating.

The family will receive friends there in the hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m.

Burial will immediately follow the service at Wayne Memorial Park of Dudley.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be sent to First Baptist Church of Mount Olive.
