Malcom Russell "Mac" Daughtry, 74, Smithfield, passed away at his home May 10, 2017.
Born in Johnston County Nov. 2, 1942, he was the son of the late Richard and Alice Mills Daughtry.
Mr. Daughtry served in the United States Marine Corps during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and was an agent for Liberty Life Insurance Co. for many years.
He was a longtime active member of Sardis Baptist Church, having served as Sunday school secretary and as a deacon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m. in Sardis Baptist Church, with burial following in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie Massengill Daughtry; son, Bryan Daughtry and wife, Dee Dee, of Smithfield; grandchildren, Bryan, Owen and Michael Daughtry; brothers, Richard "Tom" Daughtry of Selma, Danny Daughtry of Smithfield and James Daughtry of Pine Level; and sisters, Alice Corbett of Smithfield and Carolyn Wade of Palm Beach, Fla.
