Rudolph Wilson Anderson, 89, Dudley, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Rudolph was born in Wayne County Nov. 29, 1927, to the late Bobby and Dollie McCullen Anderson.

He proudly served our country in the United States Army, and retired from the North Carolina National Guard.

Rudolph had attended Emmaus Baptist Church, and was a life member of the National Guard Association.

He was retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

A service to remember Rudolph will be held by the graveside Monday, April 10, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.

Rudolph is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred Godwin Anderson; daughter, Kaye Scott and husband, Greg, of LaGrange; grandchildren, Stephanie Scott Adams and Jamie Lee Scott; two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Adams and Georgia Adams; and his lifetime friend, George Holland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Anderson and Delbert Anderson.
