Died March 13, 2017

Jasper "Coot" Gautier Jr., 82, resident of the Indian Springs Community, Seven Springs, passed away Monday morning, March 13, at Genesis Care Center.

He was retired from the logging and timber harvesting industry having been a truck driver. Also, in past years, he farmed, worked with Goldsboro Milling Co. on poultry farms, and worked with Blizzard & Holmes Mill. He worshipped at Mission Free Will Holiness Church at Grifton.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce Summerlin Williams Gautier; children, David Gautier and wife, Velma, of Seven Springs, Linda G. Rodriguez and husband, Luis, of Raleigh, Ceresa G. Saylor of Gastonia, Bill Frank Williams, and Lacy W. Gautier, both of Seven Springs; grandchildren, James Allen Gautier, Eddie Glenn Gautier, Christopher Alton Skiba, Brigette Nicole Skiba, Tabatha Paige Lupton, Jessica Dawn Lupton, Brandy Lynn Wallace, Thomas Earl Saylor, and William Gautier; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Pauline G. King of Seven Springs; a brother, Charles Gautier and wife, Joyce, of Mount Olive; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Zella Mae Williams Gautier; and a son, Wayne Junior Gautier; as well as his parents, Jasper and Rosa Hairr Gautier; and several sisters and brothers.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 15, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive. The Rev. William Horne will officiate, and burial will follow in Faison at the Faison Cemetery.

Visitation will be during the hour before the service. At other times, friends and family may join the family at the residence.
