Ruth Anne Sullivan Smith, 82 passed away Saturday morning at Woodard Care in Goldsboro.
Ruth was born in Haverhill, Mass. on Feb. 1, 1935, to the late Alvada Sullivan and Doris Bird McCormick. She was married to the late Robert Smith. Ruth was retired as the base commander secretary for Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 1:30 until 2:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home followed by a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Wendy Strickland and husband, Donald of Seven Springs and Cindy Ferguson and husband, Ken of New Bern; sons, Kenny Pittman and wife, Denise of Lakeside, Calif. and Bill Pittman and wife, Chris of Indialantic, Fla.; sister, Connie McCormick of Florida; brothers, William Sullivan of Goldsboro, and David McCormick and James McCormick, both of Massachusetts; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
