John Henry (Johnny) Brogden Jr., 58, of Goldsboro, passed away on Jan. 28, 2017, at Duke Medical ICU after a short illness. He was born Nov. 14, 1958, in Goldsboro, to John Henry and Emma Brogden. He was preceded in death by his father, John Henry Brogden Sr. and niece, Kristen Brogden.
Johnny graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1976 and attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was employed by United States Postal Service in Raleigh, N.C. He was an avid UNC Tarheel fan.
He is survived by his mother, Emma Brogden; brothers, Brian (Beverly) Brogden of Wilmington, N.C. and David (Lori) Brogden of Pine Level, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Jan. 31, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times at the home of his mother.
A service to remember the life of Johnny will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Internment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
