Aubigne Alexander "Gene" Coor Jr., 68, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at UNC Wayne Healthcare surrounded by his family.

Gene was born in Wayne County, N.C., March 11, 1948, to the late Aubigne Alexander Coor Sr. and Hazel Grady Coor.

He owned and operated his own auto repair shop.

Gene proudly served his country in the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War.

Gene was a member of Grant's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren and sister.

A service to celebrate Gene's life will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. A.G. Smith and Jeff Kearney officiating. Interment will follow in Daly Family Cemetery.

Gene is survived by his wife, Sheila Tucker Coor; daughters, Jodi West and husband, Tim, of LaGrange and Becky Mozingo and husband, Jamie, of Pikeville; and his sister, Polly Coor Grady.

He is also survived by his grandchildren, Grace West, Anna West, Emalia West, Austin Mozingo and Josh Mozingo, and his special nieces, Amber O'Quinn and Cierra Brown.

In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his brother, Cecil Coor.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at the home.
