CYNTHIA SEYMOUR SUTTON

Cynthia "Cindy" Seymour Sutton, 70, of Goldsboro, peacefully passed away on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. Cynthia was the daughter of Ola Mae Anderson Seymour and the late Edward Earl Seymour.

Fiercely independent, Cindy retired from the N.C. Department of Corrections. While serving with the Department of Corrections, Cindy was most proud of earning the distinction of "sharpshooter" during weapons qualification training. Her most significant role in life and what she did best was being a loving mother, grandmother and best friend to her family and circle of close friends. Her grandchildren brought endless bundles of happiness into her life and she relished her role as "Nanny" to them. Cindy loved watching and collecting memorabilia from "Gone With The Wind."

A memorial service will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, at 11 a.m. from Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Fowler officiating.

In addition to her mother, Cindy is survived by her son, Jay Sutton and wife, Vickie; two precious grandchildren, Katie and J.W. Sutton; and three siblings, Edna Williamson and husband, Johnny, David Seymour and wife, Wilma, and Beth Gray and husband, Jerry.

Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home and at other times they will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Williamson, 110 Club Road, LaGrange. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rousefh.com.

Arrangements are entrusted to Rouse Funeral Home, LaGrange.
