Hazel Elizabeth Hinson Jones, 89, died Friday at Willow Creek Nursing Home. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Chesley Floyd Hinson and Bertha Mae Faircloth Hinson and wife of the late Arthur E. "Red" Jones. She was also preceded in death by her son, Ernest D. Jones. Hazel was a member of Brogden Chapel Church.
A service to celebrate Hazel's life will be held Thursday at noon at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hazel is survived by her daughters, Doris Landholm, Joyce Knox and Sheila Davis; two brothers, Chesley Lloyd Hinson and John L. Hinson; two sisters, Gladys Worley and Mildred Talton; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
