BARBARA ANN JEFFERSON

Oct. 3, 1942-Jan. 5, 2017

Barbara Ann Jefferson passed from this life at the age of 74 Thursday morning, Jan. 5, 2017, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Barbara was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., Oct. 3, 1942, to the late Fernley "Ben" Killips and Mary Grant Killips.

Barbara was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spent her life loving her family and many friends.

She will always be famous for her fried chicken and desserts.

She loved children, cooking, nature, anything that sparkled, animals, music, big laughs, big hugs and Detroit Red Wings hockey.

She was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and a member of The Lord's Table Church.

Barbara leaves behind her devoted husband of 50 years, Kenneth W. Jefferson Sr.; her daughter, Melissa and husband, Kevin Kaspar, of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Ken Jr. and his wife, Phyllis Jefferson, of Goldsboro, N.C.; grandsons, Jeremy Jefferson, Christopher Jefferson and Christopher Grimes Jefferson; great-grandchildren, Hallie Barwick and Brody Jefferson; brother, Richard Killips of Stevensville, Mich.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in passing by her parents; her beautiful sisters, Audrey Myotte and Sandra Jacobs; and four loving brothers, Bob, Ben, Lyle and Jerry Killips.

Please join us to celebrate her life Saturday, Jan. 14, at 1 p.m. at The Lord's Table Church, 1215 Parkway Drive in Goldsboro, N.C.

Visitation with the family will begin at noon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Cures for the Colors.

Do something kind for someone. Have a big family dinner. Do something special with your children. Volunteer your time to a great cause. That's what Barbara would want you to do in her honor.
