Mr. Charles Lafayette Nethercutt, 84, Grifton, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017.
Born July 31, 1932, he was the son of Jesse L. and Minnie Bess Nethercutt.
He was a retired licensed contractor.
Surviving are his wife, Edna T. Nethercutt of the home; children, Charles Nethercutt Jr. of Kinston, Eddy Nethercutt of Faison, the Rev. Greg Nethercutt of LaGrange and Lynn Measley of Goldsboro; sisters, Evelyn Gray of Grifton and Shelby Jean Walston of Seven Springs; a brother, Taylor "Shorty" Nethercutt of Bailey; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at New Hull Road Church Cemetery, 1850 Joshua Mewborn Road, Snow Hill.
The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service.
