EULALIE SPENCE BLACKWELDER

March 5, 1923-Sept. 2, 2016

Eulalie Spence Blackwelder, 93, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016, at Always Compassionate Care in Fremont.

Eulalie was born in Wayne County March 5, 1923, to the late Henry Grove Spence and Hattie Rice Spence. She was married to the late Ned D. Blackwelder.

For many years, Eulalie worked as an administrator with the University of North Carolina.

Eulalie was a member of Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.

A memorial service will be held at noon at Walker Memorial United Methodist Church Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016.

The family will greet friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Inurnment was held prior to the service in Wayne Memorial Park.

Eulalie is survived by a special niece, Evelyn M. Spence of Yorktown, Va.; sisters-in-law, Patsy Spence of Greensboro, Dorothy Spence of Fayetteville and Betty Spence of Monroe; and 14 nieces and nephews she loved very dearly.

The family would like to give special thanks to Arlene Best for the love and care she showed to Eulalie during her declining health.

In addition to her husband and parents, Eulalie was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois S. Davis and Kay S. Garo; brothers, Loyola F. Spence, Henry G. Spence, Wade T. Spence and John Spence, who died Sept. 8, 2016; brothers-in-law, Hubert Davis and Raymond Garo; and sister-in-law, Elon Spence.
