Agnes E. Sparrow, 71, passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Agnes was born in Wayne County Jan. 9, 1945, to the late Dennie Wilbert Stroud and Walter Etta Beamon Stroud.

She was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.

For many years, she was a military wife, as well as a beloved caregiver for her children and grandchildren.

Agnes will be remembered for her great love of reading and sewing.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Goldsboro.

A service remembering the life of Agnes will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Bishop Jim Hull officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

A private interment will be held Friday in Rodgers-Beamon Cemetery.

Agnes is survived by her children, Rosie Roosa of New Bern, Sherrie Stapleford of Kinston and Jeffery Brandon Sparrow of the home; grandchildren, Christopher Paro, Kevin Michael Roosa, Samuel Kenneth Roosa, Joshua Scott Lane, Justin Allen Lane and Preston Lee Lane; and great-grandchildren, Nathan Springston, Oliver Paro and Jayden, Hailey, Rusty, Rylan, Autumn and Isaac Lane.

She is also survived by her sister, Carrie Lupton of Pikeville, and several nieces and nephews.

Agnes will be remembered by Samantha and Sarah Darling as their loving caregiver.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dennie Stroud, and sisters, Martha Williams and Marie Grant.
