Pearl Hamilton Hines, 99, Smithfield, passed away at her home Friday, Aug. 5, 2016.
Born in Johnston County Nov. 21, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Needham Preston and Esther West Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Derward Hines, and a grandson, Paul Derward Hines.
Mrs. Hines was a seamstress at Smithfield Sewing Co. and several other textile facilities over the years.
She was a member of Smithfield Primitive Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Smithfield Primitive Baptist Church, followed by burial in Riverside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma Monday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Surviving are her sons, Donald Erwin Hines and wife, Patricia, of Richmond, Va., and Charles Derward Hines of Smithfield; daughters, Judy Hines Flowers and husband, John Thomas, of Goldsboro and Evelyn Hines Weatherly of Poquoson, Va.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.
