ELSIE V. CASEY-POWELL

Elsie Vinson Casey-Powell, 89, passed away Saturday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Lizzie Vinson and was the wife of Tommie Powell. Mrs. Powell's first husband, Harvey H. Casey Jr. preceded her in death. She was a member of Casey Chapel Church, where she was a member of the choir and was a past Sunday School assistant treasurer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2 until 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Tony McLamb officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Powell is survived by a sister, Beatrice Vinson West of Pikeville, and many nieces and nephews.
