David Earl Price, 83, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Rex Hospital in Raleigh surrounded by his family.

David was born in Johnston County Aug. 5, 1932, the youngest of 16 children, to the late Emmett Washington Price and Minnie Lee Hill Price.

He lived his dream of proudly serving his country by joining the United States Air Force at the age of 17.

David will always be remembered for his incredible intelligence, his wonderful sense of humor and his patriotism. He protected his country and her allies on multiple deployments, stationed at various bases throughout the world.

David's military dedication and service were recognized with numerous citations and decorations. He retired after 20 years of service to our country with the rank of master sergeant.

Following his military career, David worked in the furniture market as a sales representative with Campbell and Associates located in South Carolina.

David's passion was golf, and he was a member of Lane Tree Golf Club. If it was a beautiful day, he enjoyed being on the links sharing shots and laughter with his friends.

David was a longtime member of Adamsville Baptist Church in Goldsboro. He was devoted to his church, served as an elder and deacon and was involved in many activities where he utilized his gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 23, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating David's life at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Pat Kilby officiating.

Interment will follow the service at 2 p.m. in Eastern North Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, just outside of Goldsboro, with full military honors.

David is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Campbell Price; children, Dennis Lee Price and wife, Lynn, of Cary, Danny Earl Price and wife, Sharon, of Fremont, Joseph Christopher Price and wife, Karen, of Raleigh and Nancy Price Register and husband, Charles, of Raleigh; grandchildren, Douglas Price (Susan), Andrew Price (Tamany), Joshua Price (Gail), Melissa Turner (Wayne), Alyssa Price, Lauren Price, Kristen Price, Lily Register and Lyle Register; and great-grandchildren, Elliana Price, David Ethan Price, Bobbie Price, Campbell Turner, Ireland Turner and Juliette Price.

He is also survived by his stepbrother, Harvey; his stepsisters, Janet, Debbie and Rebecca; and a number of nieces and nephews and extended family he loved very much.
