CLARA S. WHITFIELD

Clara Bruce Sutton Whitfield of Wake Assisted Living in Raleigh, N.C., formerly of Duplin County, passed away after years of declining health Monday, June 13, 2016, at age 91.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ormond and Nancy Sutton of LaGrange, N.C., and her husband, Jack Hale Whitfield Sr.
A graveside service will be held Saturday morning, June 18, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whitfield is survived by her son, Jack Whitfield and his wife, Jean, of Raleigh; her granddaughter, Scarlett Whitfield and her fiancé, Ben Huntley, of Durham; her sister, Mary Lou Johnson of Kinston; her brother-in-law, Fitzhugh Whitfield and his wife, Josephine, of Tempe, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.
