MABEL SAULS HERRING

March 21, 1924-June 8, 2016

Mabel Sauls Herring, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Mabel was born in Wayne County March 21, 1924, to the late James and Mittie Carraway Sauls.

Her warmth, generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life.

Mabel was a longtime member of Mount Carmel United Methodist Church.

Family was paramount to Mabel, and she loved nothing more than her husband, her children and grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, June 11, 2016, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service in the chapel at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bob Clark officiating. Interment will follow in Willow Dale Cemetery.

Mabel is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Harold Herring; children, Ann Stocks, Lisa Herring, Kenneth Herring and Glenn Herring all of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Herring; four sisters; and three brothers.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in her memory to Mount Carmel United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 10, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.
