PATTIE LEE TAYLOR

Pattie Lee Taylor, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday evening, May 14, 2016, at Sutton's Retirement Home.

A graveside service to celebrate her Christian life will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at 3 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley with Pastor Barry Teague officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery and other times at 101 West Church Street in Pikeville.

Mrs. Taylor was born in Greene County on Oct. 26, 1917, to the late Eddie Lee Butts and Clara Barrow Butts.

She will be totally missed but always remembered for her love for God, her family and people. She was a woman of great quietness, compassion and gentleness that loved to help others. Mrs. Taylor was a true Christian that set the example for her family and others. She was a member of Woods Grove PFWB Church.

She leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Jimmy Ray Taylor and wife, Sylvia of Hertford and Billy Gray Taylor of Pikeville; three daughters, Janet Hayes and husband, John of Newton Grove, Delphia Brown and husband, Buddy of Pikeville and Geraldine Taylor of Pikeville; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Wright Taylor; granddaughter, Charlene Taylor; sister, Etta Taylor and two brothers, Frank and Carlton Butts.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home & Crematory in Goldsboro.
