Blanche Eva Chandler Vanhoy, 100 years of age, New London, passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle.

Ms. Vanhoy was born Oct. 22, 1915, to the late Clarence and Olive Springer.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by husbands, Coy Vester Chandler and Charles Vanhoy, as well as one sister, Pearl Huneycutt.

Blanche was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who will be remembered for her family contributions and her excellent cooking skills.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 13, 2016, at Hartsell Funeral Home Albemarle.

The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Hartsell Funeral Home's Lefler Memorial Chapel, with elder Branan Hooven officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery at 44118 N.C. 740 in New London.

Survivors include son, Roger Chandler of New London; daughters, Millie Claudette Kepley of Goldsboro, Peggy Davis of Albemarle and Kay Harrington of Richfield; brothers, Roy Springer of Albemarle and Welton Springer of Aquadale; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Stanly and the Uwharrie, 960 N. First St., Albemarle.

Hartsell Funeral Home is serving the Vanhoy family.
