CLARENCE 'SAMBO' EDWARD NEWKIRK

Clarence "Sambo" Edward Newkirk, 82, of 276 Matthews Road, Dudley, died Tuesday in the Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
He was born June 21, 1933, in Wayne County to Percy and Carrie McClarin Newkirk.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Thompson Newkirk, and nine children.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Faith Presbyterian Church.
Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the family present to receive friends from 5 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Haskins Funeral Home.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
