MARY ANN KLEBER WRIGHT

Sept. 14, 1954–April 18, 2016

Mary Ann Kleber Wright, 61, passed away Monday, April 18, 2016, at her home in Goldsboro, N.C.

Mary Ann was born in Trier, Germany. She was the daughter of Raymond and Zita Kleber.

As the daughter in an Air Force family, she traveled extensively with her family to the Netherlands, Germany, Turkey and England, as well as throughout the United States.

Mary Ann attended school in England, and later obtained her high school diploma at Wayne Community College.

She then began work at the Howell’s Child Care Center, where she displayed a talent for working with young disabled children.

She worked for several years at the center before moving to Cherry Hospital, where she was noted for her dependability, dedication and compassion for her patients. She was well suited for this type of service, and was well loved by staff and patients, who affectionately nicknamed her “Queen Bee.”

She was a joy to those who knew her, and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her father, retired United States Air Force Col. Raymond B. Kleber; a brother, Theodore Kleber and wife, Judy, of Choctaw, Okla.; and stepsister, Tatjana Witzmann of Fairfax, Va.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Zita Kleber, and stepmother, Elke Kleber.

A service remembering Mary Ann will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 1000 N. Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, with Father Alex Gonzales presiding. Inurnment will follow the service in the church columbarium.
