JANICE BUCKRHAM BEST

July 29, 1949-April 11, 2016

Mrs. Janice Buckrham Best, 66, 302 Cone St., Goldsboro, died.

A precious life ended April 11, 2016, when sister Janice Buckrham Best was taken from us. We know she is at rest with our Heavenly Father. After so much suffering by sister Best, the Lord took her from "all" pain, and took her to himself, where there is "no" pain.

There are three steps to heaven -- out of self, into Christ, into glory.

Sister Best took these first two steps in life, and lived a beautiful life in Christ. Now she has taken the third step where there is no more weeping, no pain, no sorrow and no disappointment.

We know she is satisfied now, and she is reaping her great reward reserved for the faithful.

Sister Best loved Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her willingness to serve and work in the church made her a happy and radiant Christian. She has now fulfilled that purpose.

Though her family and friends may weep for a while, but should rejoice with her, and thank our Heavenly Father for the life she lived among us. We thank God for taking her to the land of glory as he has promised all who are faithful.

The celebration of her life will be held Sunday, April 17, 2016, at 1:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Headquarters, 1800 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro, N.C. She will be laid to rest at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 U.S. 117, Dudley, N.C.

There will be a visitation held Saturday, April 16, 2016, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 2506 New Hope Road, LaGrange, N.C.

She was born in Wayne County, N.C., July 29, 1949, to Lemiah Buckrham and Ella Lewis Buckrham.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her husband, Linwood Earl Best; daughter, KeSha Johnson; grandsons, Khiry Best, KeShon Johnson and Zerrick Johnson; her mother, Ella Buckrham Jackson; sisters, Ellen Buckrham Coley of Stockbridge, Ga., Sandra Davis of Goldsboro, N.C., and Glinda Harris of LaGrange, N.C.; two brothers, the Rev. Charles Howard and Dr. Harold Warren of Goldsboro, N.C.; three sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; and four aunts, Minnie Warren Bell, Delores Summers (Lindbergh), Minnie Swinson Lewis and Barbara Lewis Best.

Professional, sympathetic, dignified and compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations Inc.
