GARY L. THIGPEN

Oct. 1, 1956-March 31, 2016

Gary Lyn Thigpen, 59, lifelong resident of Scott's Store community near Mount Olive, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, March 31.

Gary, a metal fabricator, through the years had been employed at Metal-Crafters, A.P. Parts, Cumberland Hatchery and with IMPulse at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Loftin Thigpen; a daughter and son-in-law, Tanya T. and J.B. Bright of Deep Run; a son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Ashley Jones Thigpen of Mount Olive; two grandchildren, Hunter Bright and Kalley Thigpen; his father, Alfred Thigpen of Mount Olive; a brother, Larry Thigpen of Clayton; and a niece, Hannah Thigpen of Clayton.

His mother, Margie Jones Thigpen, preceded him in death.

Services to remember Gary and his life will be Sunday, April 3, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kelvin Coates officiating, and with words of remembrance shared by Danny Wright. Burial will follow the service in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

Visitation was held Saturday evening at the funeral home.
