TOMMY JONES
July 22, 1963-March 2, 2016
Thomas Leroy "Tommy" Jones, 52, Mount Olive, passed away suddenly Wednesday at Wake Medical Center.
Tommy was born in Lenoir County July 22, 1963, to Lee Roy Jones of LaGrange and the late Linda Grey Alphin Brown.
He was employed with Time-Warner Cable TV.
Tommy had a great love for hunting and fishing. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and never took himself too seriously. Tommy was a good friend and a great father, and had a generous heart.
A private graveside service for the family will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2016, at Pineview Cemetery in Seven Springs, with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating.
In addition to his father, Tommy is survived by his daughter, Stevie Nicole Johnson and husband, Dennis, of Kinston; grandchildren, McKenna Johnson and Kaylan Johnson; brothers, Scotty Jones, Dennis Earl Jones and Aaron Jones; stepchildren, Brandon Nelson and Brooke Perry; and nephews, Brandon Jones, Chris Jones and Jason Register.
He is also survived by his stepfather, Selby Jackson Brown, and his stepsister, Donna Holcombe.
He was also preceded in death by his stepbrother, Selby Franklin Brown.
The family will receive friends Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
