Thurman Earl Saylor, 75, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Coshocton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Earl J. and Maude Oschsenbein Saylor, and father of the late Gregory Saylor and Toni Lynn Stephens.

Thurman was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and the Goldsboro Moose Lodge, and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

A service to celebrate Thurman’s life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jim Willoughby and the Rev. Ralph Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.

Thurman is survived by his wife, Annette Saylor; two sons, Charles and Lisa Saylor of Dudley and Jeff and Kim Saylor of Goldsboro; a daughter, Vicky Stamatis of Newport; a son-in-law, Randy Stephens of Beaufort, N.C.; two brothers, Lawrence “Donnie” Saylor and Richard Saylor both of Ohio; two sisters, Carmen Jarvis and Ramona Untied both of Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren; along with several stepgrandchildren.
