Mrs. Rose Mary Jacobs Sherard, 61, lovingly known by her family and friends as "Curly," 2511 Norwood Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill, N.C.

Rose Mary was born in Wayne County Aug. 8, 1954. She was born to the late Mr. Hugh Jacobs and Mrs. Lila Barnes Jacobs.

Rose Mary was a 1972 graduate of Goldsboro High School.

Mrs. Sherard was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Ralph Barnes Sr.; and her sister, Brenda Kaye Reid.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Greenleaf Christian Disciples of Christ Church, 2110 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C. Apostle Dennis R. Jacobs will officiate. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park Cemetery, 2925 U.S. 117 South, Dudley, N.C.

A public viewing will be held Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, in D.L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m.

Mrs. Sherard leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her husband of 33 years, Thedwood "Rudy" Sherard Jr.; her three children, Ashley Sherard of Atlanta, Ga., Parker Sherard (fiancée, Nikita Stephens) of Goldsboro, N.C., and Temonio Anderson (John) of Knoxville, Tenn.; her two grandchildren, Jalen and Jade Anderson; her two sisters, Sallie Lewis and Linda (Marvin) Bowman of Goldsboro, N.C.; her four brothers, Hugh (June) Jacobs of Harrisburg, N.C., Dennis (Ravonda) Jacobs of Goldsboro, N.C., Chester (Oreta) Jacobs of San Diego, Calif., and Michael Jacobs of Goldsboro, N.C.

Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior at 9:30 a.m., at the residence of Mrs. Sallie Lewis, 1901 Elton Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., in preparation for the funeral procession.

Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
