BETTY A. RICKE

Betty Allen Ricke, 92, died Friday at the home of her daughter, Peggy Wingate.

Born in Bossier City, La., she was the daughter of the late Claud T. and Iona Arnold Allen, wife of the late Richard Otto Ricke and sister of the late Clyde Allen.

Mrs. Ricke was a former preschool teacher at Trinity Lutheran School and administrator with Weight Watchers of Greenville, S.C.

She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 126, Monaghan Chapter No. 82, where she was past worthy matron. She was the past assistant mother advisor for the Order of the Rainbow.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Greenville, S.C., with pastor Susan Crowell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Family members will greet friends at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Mrs. Ricke is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Alex Wingate of Goldsboro, N.C., Annette and Pete Seda of Valparaiso, Fla., and Gayle and Richard Kennedy of Marianna, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Claire Horger Allen of Greenville, S.C.; seven grandchildren, Andy Wingate, Heidi Hannam, Mary Franklin, Marie Castaneda, Julie Kennedy LeBlanc, Amanda Kemp and Josh Grant; 11 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Cary, Clay, Charlotte and Craig Allen, Celeste Marcone, Claudia Moose, Cheryl McCary, Janet Squicciarini and Carol Dentici.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church, 421 Main St., Greenville, S.C., 29601, or flowers may be delivered to 125 Mount Vista Ave., Greenville, S.C., 29605.
