Mother Elsie Lena Barnes Haskins, 75, of Wilson peacefully succumbed to the Lord's call Friday morning in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born Friday, August 16, 1940 in Wayne County to the late Rev. Cleophus and Naomi Hodges Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in the silent halls of death by her infant son, Keith Haskins.

The triumphant homegoing service will be held Thursday at noon at the Bread of Life Family Worship Center, 910 Granger Street, Wilson, N.C. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Fremont Cemetery.

Treasured memories are held dear by her sons, Hal Haskins of Portsmouth, Va., the Rev. Ernie Haskins and wife, Miranda of Goldsboro; two granddaughters, Heather D. Haskins of Raleigh, and Lauren E. Haskins of Goldsboro; three sisters, Alberta M. Parker of Wilson, Gwendolyn Fogle of Philadelphia, Pa., Adrienne Crowell of Clinton, Md.; a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 until 8 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will also receive friends during an inspirational wake Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the church. The family will assemble at 1500 Hadley Street in Wilson in preparation for the funeral cortege.
