Junius Blackman Whitman, Jr., known to some as June, passed away Thursday night, Jan. 14.
A logger, farmer and repairman, he was 52 years old.
Services will be Monday, Jan. 18, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation following.
Burial will be Tuesday, Jan. 19, at 1 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Preceded in death by his daughter, Maranda Nicole Whitman, and his father, Junius B. Whitman Sr., he is survived by his mother, Lizzie Best Whitman of Mount Olive; a brother, Darby Harold Whitman and wife, Windy, of Alabama; two sisters, Johnnie Rose W. Boyette and husband, Clifton, of Pink Hill and Dixie W. Epps of Raleigh; nieces; nephews; other family and friends; and special dog companion, "Shibby."
