GAIL ROSS JOHNSONs

Feb. 16, 1931-Jan. 9, 2016

Gail Ross Johnson, 84, of Dudley passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Goldsboro Assisted Living.

Gail was born in Calhoun County, Iowa on Feb. 16, 1931, to the late Gilbert LaVaughn Johnson and Bernice Louise Salisbury Johnson. He proudly served his country and retired from the United States Air Force. Gail later went to work with AP Parts in Goldsboro. Those of us who knew Gail weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. He made the world a healthier and happier place.

A service celebrating Gail's life will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Gainer officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home in Dudley.

Gail is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise R. Johnson; daughters, Sandra Lugo and husband, Mike, and Connie Smith and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Angelina Lugo Kennedy and husband, Isaiah, Benjamin Smith and Samuel Smith; and his brother, Jerry Johnson of Arkansas.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandsons, Michael Lugo and Joseph Lugo.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, N.C. 27609.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
