Noreen Sheffield Simms, 78, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2016, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Noreen was born in Moore County Dec. 5, 1937, to the late Harvey Lee Sheffield and Ada Brown Sheffield. She was married to the late James Douglas Simms.
For many years, Noreen worked as a hair stylist in Goldsboro, and was currently working with Delmus Hardware.
Those who met Noreen could always see a smile on her face, and could count on her kindness and unconditional love and friendship.
A service celebrating Noreen's life will be held Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Bill Garner officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Noreen is survived by her sons, Dexter Gregg Brown and wife, Stacey, and Michael Lee Brown and wife, Sharon, all of Goldsboro; daughter, Kathy Ray of Greenville; sister, Berlene Wright of Asheboro; six grandchildren, Michael David Brown, Timothy James Brown, David Allen Brown, Jessica Brown, Dylan Douglas Ray and Chandler Sheffield Ray; and a great-grandson, Turner Allen Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
